When interviewing a Kansas City listing team, ask for a property-specific plan and the names of the people responsible for carrying it out. The most useful comparison covers pricing, preparation, marketing, communication and decisions after an offer arrives.

What supports your suggested price?
Ask to see the comparable sales and competing listings behind the recommendation. Have the agent explain differences in condition, location and terms, plus any gaps in the evidence. Ask what would cause the team to revise the recommendation after launch.
A high suggested price can be appealing, but the reasoning matters. Request an estimated proceeds calculation with assumptions clearly identified so you can compare proposals on a consistent basis.
Which marketing services are included?
Ask for the agreed deliverables, responsible people and expected sequence. Depending on the proposed package, this may involve photography, property copy, listing distribution, video or other materials. Confirm what is included, what is optional and how costs are handled.
Ask to see relevant examples of finished work. Check whether the photos and descriptions make property features clear. A list of platforms is less useful than an explanation of what will actually be prepared for your home.
Who will communicate with me?
Confirm your primary contact, backup contact and preferred update method. Ask who collects showing feedback, who interprets it and when you will review the listing’s response together. Discuss how urgent decisions are handled when you are unavailable.
Agree on the process before the listing launches. It is easier to judge service against explicit expectations than against an assumed response time.
How will you compare offers?
Ask how the team will explain price, concessions, financing, deadlines, contingencies and possession. Request a comparison that identifies confirmed details, assumptions and questions still to resolve. You should understand the obligations of the offer you accept.
Who follows the transaction through closing?
Ask which tasks belong to your agent, transaction support, lender, title or closing professionals, and you. Confirm how deadlines are tracked and how unresolved items are escalated. Ask for a relevant example of a complication and how the team communicated the options.
Compare the written proposal
After the interview, record the suggested strategy, included services, negotiated compensation, communication plan and unanswered questions. Check the listing agreement against your understanding. A ranking or a strong presentation cannot substitute for clarity about the service you are choosing.
