A real estate ranking becomes useful when you know exactly what was measured. Before comparing two Kansas City teams, check the publisher, data year, geographic area, category and metric. Similar-looking badges can describe very different accomplishments.

Read these five details together
- Publisher: who compiled the list, and where can you see the underlying entry?
- Year: does the edition describe the previous year’s sales or a different period?
- Geography: is the comparison for Kansas City, Missouri, a state, the metro or the nation?
- Category: are individuals, small teams and large teams separated?
- Metric: is the result based on sales volume, transaction sides, reviews or another measure?
Do not turn a rank into a percentile without knowing the denominator and eligibility rules. Likewise, a city category result should keep that geographic and category scope wherever it is quoted.
A sourced example: MoJo’s RealTrends profile
The RealTrends Verified profile for MoJo, checked September 5, 2026, places the team in its Mega Team category. The 2026 edition reports 2025 production of 290 transaction sides and $101.35 million in volume, with city ranks of 2 for both measures in Kansas City, Missouri.
That is a scoped production result. It does not establish second place across every team size and municipality in the Kansas City metro. It also does not measure every aspect of a future client’s experience.
Keep production measures separate
Sales volume and transaction sides answer different questions. A team working at a higher price point can have substantial volume with fewer transactions. A transaction-side count should not be relabeled as a count of unique homes or clients without checking the source’s definitions.
If two publications show different figures, review their periods, definitions and reporting rules before deciding that one is wrong. Use the original source rather than an undated screenshot or a shortened social caption.
Use the ranking to improve your interview
Ask who will represent you, what that person has handled in your target area and how the team communicates. Request relevant examples and an explanation of the proposed buying or selling plan. Those questions connect a team-level record with the service you are considering.
A production list can help you identify established options. Your decision still needs an assessment of the assigned agent, the agreement and your priorities. Use MoJo’s agent interview guide or ask about your specific move.
