Finding more than a house in Independence

I helped a buyer looking for a move-in-ready ranch home in Independence, Missouri. The location, construction and materials mattered to him, and we took the time to look for a home that fit those priorities.
After an extensive search, we found a home with something that stood out: a garden filled with fruits and vegetables. The garden was an important part of what drew the buyer to the property.
I kept the people involved in the purchase informed throughout the process. When I was unavailable, my MoJo teammates stepped in so the search could continue. This was a team effort, with communication and coordination at each stage.
The biggest challenge came after the inspection, when the seller initially declined to make the requested repairs. Our team negotiated, coordinated the resolutions and kept everyone updated. The repairs were completed, and the buyer closed on the home.
Our help continued after closing. We found garden-care instructions and connected the buyer with a local farmer who could help harvest and maintain the garden. We also created a bound homeowner book with repair receipts, warranties and contractor information.
That follow-through is what stays with me about this purchase. The garden helped make this the right home for the buyer, and our work included helping him care for it after he received the keys.
